You can make a full duplicate of an entire election, including all its races and associated data (candidates, topics, responses, etc.), by cloning it.
A common use is moving from primary to general elections. After a primary election is complete:
- Clone the primary election
- Rename the clone as the general election
- Delete candidates from the general election who did win their primaries
- Make any other edits or updates you would like to the general election, and publish it as usual
Duplicating an election
Go to “Settings” for the election (the button in the upper right of the election screen).

Click the “Clone” button at the bottom of the settings screen.

The cloned election will now appear at the bottom of your elections list. Click on it and go to the settings tab too rename it.
Note that the duplicate process can take a while, especially for large elections, so keep your window open until you see the new election appear.
