You can make a full duplicate of an entire election, including all its races and associated data (candidates, topics, responses, etc.).
A common use is moving from primary to general elections. After a primary election is complete:
- Duplicate the primary election
- Rename the duplicate as the general election
- Delete candidates from the general election who did win their primaries
- Make any other edits or updates you would like to the general election, and publish it as usual
Duplicating an election
Go to “Settings” for the election (the button in the upper right of the election screen).
Click the “Duplicate” button in the lower right of the settings screen (next to the “Cancel” button).
Click the “Start duplication” button in the popup window.
The duplicate process can take a while, especially for large elections. Keep the window open to see progress updates.
